MP3 City Guides – the better way to experience a city:

Welcome to London.

You’ve arrived, unpacked, had a good night’s sleep and now want to make the most of your weekend in London.  To get a feel for the city you've already listened to our Quick City Guide. Press the play button directly to the right, underneath the image of the ipod to hear a sample of what to expect.

With all this in mind it's now time to start seeing the city and its sights.

You pick up your well-thumbed guidebook and soon identify Parliament Square as your first destination. After getting your bearings with the help of the concierge you head off up Victoria Street, wired into your ipod, guidebook in hand.

After a couple of your favourite tunes you’re there, standing beside Winston Churchill’s statue in the centre of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, gazing up at the iconic clock face of Big Ben.

Off with your ipod and out with the guidebook. The index says to go to pages 64-66, below…

Now get the real experience:

After reading the above, you can't help but feel that the endless rows of words, spread out over a couple of pages, fail to do this great monument justice. Standing there, head buried in a book, it's easy to be distracted from the sights around you.

What if you simply had to change tracks on your ipod, swapping from Springsteen’s “Atlantic City” to StrollOn’s “Big Ben”? Using audio instead of written words, your experience would be enhanced, freeing up your eyes to focus on the elegant tower and intricate clock face standing in front of you.

If you press the play button directly to the right, underneath the image of the ipod, you’ll see what we mean.
